Wet plate portrait from Tangible by Achim Boers

Workshops

Learn something old

Make photographs by hand

Coat a glass plate, create a cyanotype or watch a black and white print appear in the darkroom. My workshops give you time to work with the materials, make photographs and understand the choices behind each result.

I teach the processes I use in my own practice, drawing on my background in applied physics. We connect the history and chemistry with what happens in your hands. Small groups allow time to ask questions, compare results and practise, with the aim of giving you the confidence to continue making work of your own.

Each course takes two days. Choose the process you would like to explore below.
